Puppy Training Vinegar

about puppy training?

I just bought a beautiful yellow lab puppy, 9 weeks old, the breeder says the easiest way to train them is put about 1/4 cup of vinegar in a spray bottle with water, when they are being naughty tell them NO and give them a good spray…is this a good way to train a puppy basic commands, or is this considered cruel?

That’s fine. The only reason that the vinegar is in there is because most mammals don’t like the smell and the taste, so it kind of annoys the dog. It doesn’t sting or anything, it’s just mildly annoying. If you don’t want to use the vinegar though, regular water is fine too.
