I want to learn more about the Great Dane? 3 Questions (Australia, Victoria – specific, since it is where I live)?

Hi I am looking for property / Buy a Great Dane puppy in a year or two and have been researching breeders, trainers and all information I can get in these beautiful creatures. I'm looking for a Merle Harlequin Blue Harlequin Great Dane marked as these are my favorites. My questions are specific to Australia Victoria area, and you do not want export or to the new puppy on a plane – I'd rather go to collect myself and view it before purchase. My questions are: 1. What would you recommend registered breeder and why? 2. What's in Victoria show? (As I am interested in coaching my dane to show) 3. Web sites I would recommend for anyone new to owning a Great Dane? Thanks for the replies!

Puppy http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/puppies/great-dane.asp http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/breeders/great-dane.asp a list of Great Dane breeders in Australia Dogzonline is a good place to start to find breeders in your area. Even if you do not have a current litter, I advise you to talk with more of them as possible, and find a breeder that you really like. The breeder should be able to tell or any upcoming litters planned. There is a section for dogs, which may also be interested. These dogs are usually show dogs trained for the ring, so if you're new here, you can be a good way starting with a dog who already knows what is expected of them in the ring. http://www.greatdaneclubvic.org/ This will also be a good place to start. Call up and have a chat and know more about what is happening in your area and when. When I was getting another Dane in the beginning of the year, I talked a bit with Carol in Paurolpark http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/member.asp?name=PAUROLPARK She was beautiful, and I'd recommend calling as blue harlequins races, and inevitably has merles in each litter. Unfortunately, if you want to show your dog, then you will not be able to get a blackbird. Merle Danes can not be displayed in Australia. It took nine years to file a petition for boston / mantle Danes in the ring, so no one is looking forward to merles be allowed in the short term. I hope this has helped. Good luck finding your new friend impressive. Indeed, it is difficult to stop at one, and once a Dane, never look back!
