puppy training rules
How do I get a very stubborn puppy to potty train? The pup is a six month old Maltese,?

I have had her since she was twelve weeks, and she flat out refuses to learn this important lesson. The funny thing about it is, I have her sister as well whom is also six months and is potty trained. We have ruled out any possiable medical reason and my vet has said it has come down to that she is just plain stubborn. I also have two older ones that are aslo potty trained. I have never had this much trouble…ever. She refuses to use pads, or go outside, she will potty in her crate, or where ever it suites her at the time as long as it is on my white carpet! Any one have any ideas?

I shouldn’t tell you this but here goes. If you are sure it is not a medical thing that is good. At six months old, she knows and understands. Has she been getting enough attention? It sounds like you have three others in the house besides her. If she isn’t getting your attention and love, she might be doing the poop/pee thing to get your attention. Good or bad attention doesn’t matter as long as it is attention………

I have two Maltese males. My older can kill me with a look. They are a strange breed. Mine are trained to the pee pads.
TRY giving her a lot of extra attention and see what happens. It would be worth it if it works…………….
