puppy training raising puppies
raising a puppy and an infant together?

We have a 13 week old puppy. He is house trained(for the most part) and a good guard dog(barking when any stranger comes into the yard) but he is a little on the wild side. He runs through the house like he is being chased by a mad man. He whines to go out, then when I let him out he whines to come back in. I know that puppies need LOADS and LOADS of love, care and patience. I spend so much time each day playing fetch, tug of war, etc with him. But, I am due to have a baby in September, and I am just wondering how this is going to work. Babies too need LOADS and LOADS of love, care and patience. How do we split our time between the two, plus work, house work and each other? He will still need training by then. What do we do? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Well you can always take turns: half with the puppy and half with your baby. You should also keep in mind that both the puppy and your baby will grow up…so soon you will not have to split your time between them, they will probably spend time with eachother and a dog is always a good companion for a kid! Mabye taking walks together…Its a good way to spend time with your husband/wife, child, and dog. It will also help with all the dogs un-wanted energy! Make sure you dont leave your baby and the dog alone together until they are both old enough not to get hurt and have enough knowlege to know what is right and what is wrong…I hope this will help!@ Good Luck!!! :)
