Paper Training a Puppy?
We just brought home a new puppy, the last one we’ve had was trained to go outside, but that was a pain in the neck during the winter, so this time we’re thinking about paper training.
We asked our breeder and she said that when housebreaking the puppy should be confined to the crate at all times.
Does this literally mean AT ALL TIMES. Like he has to just sit there and do nothing?
Absolutely not paper training is the worst idea ever. It only impedes a dog from ever becoming housebroken.
When you are not watching the dog yes it should be in the crate, any other time it must be on a leash attached to you.
ETA: Arachne what HORRID advice, get out of the 30′s where abusive stupid dog training methods like that belong, not to mention they do NOT work. Unless of course you want to RUIN a dog’s trust in you. Let me be glad I am a human and not a dog in your care.
