I need puppy training help?
Hi! My puppy is 16 weeks old. We got him a week ago from New Orleans. Here in New York its much colder. I am having a few problems with trainging my longhaired dachshund. Before we got him he never set foot on the road. Now that we are starting to walk him, we are having some problems. I have to carry him to the road because he just doesnt want to go near it. Most of the time he just doesnt want to walk and doesnt move and i have to pull him. I really wanted to walk him. Do you think its because the weather is colder right now? What should I do?
Be patient. Work with your puppy slowly. Try to bring treats and encourage him to walk with you. I do know that dachshunds get cold very easily. I have 5 dachshunds. Check them out flagstaffdoxies.webs.com. Hope this helps some.
