Weimeraner Puppies?
Hi, I hope somebody can help me. I am looking to buy a Weimeraner puppy. (I live in Manchester)
I have got several questions
1. I haven’t the first idea where to buy one from. There are some kennels close by to where I live and they sell them there but I think I would rather see it with its mother and would like to see where it has come from.
2. I will be crate training the pup – are Weimeraner puppies good dogs to train in this way.
3. Once we have bought the pup, how long before it has to have its injections and which injections will it need to have? Can it not go out for walks until it has had its injections? How much am I looking to pay?
4. If we get a female dog then we will be having it spayed. Would you recommend letting her have her first season before we do this?
6. I presume that any breeder will B asking us some questions (I should hope so because if it was me selling then I would want to know) What kinds of things do they want 2 know. Thanks for any help
Most areas also have Weimaraner Rescue or Sporting dog rescue. All dogs should be crate trained, it helps housebreak them and gives them a secure safe place to be when no one is supervising. If they do not learn to chew furniture they won’t. Shots vary from area to area, only a local vet knows what shots are needed where you are. Personally I take my pups out at 8 weeks to meet people and go to Puppy Kindergarten but avoid dog parks and of course vet clinics are a hot bed of disease. A female spayed b4 her first heat has almost 0% chance of breast cancer, the % risk goes up with every heat so by 6 mos old is best. Pups can be spayed at 7 weeks and many breeders, rescues and shelters do so. Breeders ask past dog experience, kids in household, fenced yard, do you how much it costs to have a pet, where will dog live days/nights, do you have an obed school nearby, do you know how much exercise they need, how do you plan on giving them exercise, and a vet picked out. My Aunt bred and showed Weims for many years and I love the breed, I have only owned 1 I rescued who was out of a Field Ch. sire and field bred Dam. I placed him with a hunter who had German Shorthairs all his life and was in the market for a “Mother’s Day” present..lol..a hunting dog for him.
