Why is my dog eating his own feces?

Well, its not my dog, its my sisters but she doesn’t seem to think its a real problem. For starters, the dog is not house trained at all. When he goes in the house, he eats his fecal matter, when we take him outside he attempts to eat it, when he’s with my other dog, he tries to eat my other dogs feces. We feed him IAMS: Smart Puppy which he doesn’t finish, so we know he is not starving enough to eat his own feces. This is getting a little out of hand and it gets more gross every time he does it. Can someone please help?

Thanks a lot!
well like i said this is my sisters dog and she leaves him gated up in the kitchen while shes gone if me, my dad, and my brother are usually home, but we arent always inside to carry around a plastic baggy and chase his ass around.

Perhaps he’s just doing his bit to recycle.
There are additives that can be put on his poop to stop that but if you’re there in time to put the stuff on before he eats it why not just pick it up?
In light of the fact that you are feeding him IAMS maybe he figures one brand of s(hit) is as good as another..
Have you ever wondered about the stuff to make dog poop taste worse……..HOW DO THEY KNOW?
