Is it possible to do both indoor and outdoor potty training for a puppy?
Some people say the best way is to potty train just outside.
Others say to get newspaper for when they need to “go” and I’m not around.
Are puppies really that clever? Do they think “Oh! She’s not around right now to open the garden door for me, so I’ll just go on this piece of newspaper”
I haven’t used a crate (mistake?) so my poor little puppy, 14 weeks, has to pee on the kitchen floor at night. Tried the newspaper, mats and spray. But she seems to prefer the tiles….
You can definetly teach both. But to not confuse the lil’ pup try to teach one at a time. The command “Go potty’, or “Do your business” comes in handy. Very simple to teach whenever you dog goes just say the command.
Puppys are in fact very clever…THough the problem is they have so much energy it can be hard and frustrating to teach them at times. Also as long as you lay down the law in the first place they shouldnt go get the newspaper…but alwasy could, just try to correct them as best you can.
