How do I get my puppy trained to be a show dog?
What are the first steps I take to get my puppy ready for show?
You cannot show your puppy in breed unless he meets all breed standards. That is your first step. So your puppy must be of pure breed and have his/her papers to prove that. Next, your puppy must be intact as a show dog can never be spayed or neutered. And then finally, your puppy must conform to all breed standards.
If your puppy is a mutt or not of show quality, then you can still show it in just not in conformation. You can do agility for example.
