How can I persuade him to get a puppy???
Me and my boyfriend have our own house and I realllllly want a puppy!
I dont know how I can persuade him though.
I work near home, so I could go home on my dinner and play with the pup, I have had a dog before and know how to train them, and yes I know how much time / effort / money they take, and we can easily afford it!
We do alot of camping and I would love to have a little companion to take with us!
Help me persuade him!
He doesn’t hate dogs at all……he had a dog when he was a kid. He just isn’t very keen on getting one……..I know it would be great though!!! He’s just being stubborn……haha……men!
It depends on his reasons for not wanting one. Some concerns are more easily addressed than others. I will say, however, that if he really does not want one right now, pushing him may not be the best thing. Nor is just going out and getting one and hoping he’ll come around.
I can tell you, my husband was ‘no dog’ for years until just recently, and I bugged him almost daily about getting one and even ended up picking some fights over it. Big mistake, it only made him dig his heels in further. Then a few weeks ago he met one he liked and is at least now open to the possibility of us having one. But he really started to come around AFTER I backed off and did not bother him so much (I just stuck to casual, occasional references about a dog and then I’d change the subject.) And now we’re on a waiting list to adopt a rescue.
It also might be the idea of a puppy that turns him off. Think about adopting a young adult instead. He might like that better. (I do hope that when the time comes you’ll adopt from a rescue or shelter rather than go to a breeder or pet store. Ok off my soap box
