How do i train my 7 month old puppy how to shake, roll-over, and jump?
He is an Australian Shepherd mixed with Blue Heeler.
He already knows how to sit and lay. I want to teach him how to do other things.
Also, what other things do they love to do, besides herding.
shake: get him to sit, gently pick up his paw, tell him shake, and give him a treat. repeat several times daily. Eventually, the dog will catch on.
Roll over: Tell your dog to lay down. roll him over on his back, rub his belly, praise him, and give him a treat. Repeat.
Jump: I don’t know what the “ideal” method is, but here are two methods that work. If you are thinking about hurdles, set up a low Barrier that your dog can step over in a doorway, positioned so that he has no choice but to walk over it. call him from the opposite side of the door, and when he steps over, praise him and give him a treat. Repeat, gradually raising the height of the hurdle. for jumping in the air, directly up, you can hold the treat above his head and have him jump up to get it.
