new puppy training supplies
What are all of the supplies I would need for a new puppy?

Soon i am bringing home a small, boy pomeranian puppy. What are all of the things (and extras, like treats and training for example) i would need to purchase and have ready in my house to be prepared for my new puppy? thanks~! :)

Hmmm, that’s a tough one, as all pets are different. As a pet owner, I would suggest:

toys (small balls, tug toys, little squeaky toys)
a dog bed (sized for how big the pup will be when it’s fully grown, and durable)
food and water dishes (avoid thin plastic, as pups tend to chew on plastic)
puppy pads (helps potty train, they use the pads and it’s easier to housebreak)
2 leashes (1 as a backup in case you lose one or dog chews it up)
collar, one that has notches or brackets for easy adjustment
recommendations from friends and family on a good veterinarian (doesn’t hurt to be prepared)
a wire kennel if you plan to kennel-train
rawhide chews, if you plan to avoid the dog chewing on your furniture and your shoes
a blankie for their sleeping area (every dog needs a woobie!)
food (best diet based on BREED, research is necessary to keep your pet alive longer)
a pooper scooper or bags for retrieval of puppy poop (everyone has to do it)
small treats (American Kennel Club’s chicken treats are great) for use as rewards in training and housebreaking

This should be a pretty good list to work from. Depending on the pet itself, some of these things may be superfluous, but it’s best to be prepared. Have fun with your new pup, may he live a long and happy life as a member of your household :) .
