morkie puppy training tricks
Why my puppy walks away and has not interest of training.?

I have been training my 17week old morkie to do tricks… I started a week ago. tryed out lots of teats. she like milk bones, doesn’t like liver treats, sometimes like bits of cheese… but so for the past couple of days I have been training her right before lunch and or dinner her food is really small and she seems to like it as a reward… I only do it for like 5 mins each, she knows ::Sit, Laydown, and almost knows rollover and beg.:: but now when ever I sit down and start training she loses interest and walks away… if I lay a treat down so she will come closer, she just comes and eats it and backs way up… I don’t know why she’s acting like this. anyone have ideas? I am just wanting to go over those 4 tricks for awhile till she really knows them… but I cant if she doesn’t come and participate… :(
Hey “Dogs are awesome” what time of day do you train? is it wrong to train before meals? thanks for your advice!

Now, this is something I can help with!

If you keep letting her loose interest then when she is older she is going to know that she can ignore you and will be harder to train. You need to make you seem like the best thing in her life that means that anything that is fun has to be because of you.

When she starts to loose interest, do not stop training just because she is acting like that. Start to play or make silly noises, anything to get her interested (you can even roll around on the floor). Make it seem like she is missing out. Once she is having fun make her do it then award her and stop training if you feel that she will not continue on. Remember, always end on your terms and on a good note!

Make sure that whenever she looses interest, training or not training, that you just act like your having a ball with our her and that should get her attention on you. That way, when she is older she will have a dedication to you that will be unbreakable. It will usually get worse when she gets older, because she will go through the teen years and get really brash.

You are not doing to long of training sessions, and remember training is never not in session! Do it while having fun! Use toys and treats, that way she won’t be focused on one type of motivator.
Also, make her sit and down without the treat. If she won’t do it without the treat, then correct her and make her do it. That way,she learns that she has to do it and then when she does do it make a big deal about it. That way, you will become her motivator.

She is doing this to try to see how you react. To see what she can get away with. Also, make sure to make it fun for her at this age, but also be serious. Make it playtime when you train, also have her favorite toy be just for training and nothing else.

Hope this helps!
