Training for a 1 yr old Boxer?
His age is only approximate since we adopted him for the shelter. But he still does the ‘puppy’ thing(nipping,,jumping,pulling the leash out of our hands and running off,etc),and since I’m pregnant,we’re looking into training for him since we can’t have him constantly doing this. We have looked at the classes at Pet Smart,’video’
training or sending him off to be trained by someone else ( I don’t like that idea but if it’s best….). What would be our best bet in training him?
*We’ve only had him about 2 months.*
I would suggest both you and your husband take class with him because he will have to learn to follow your commands. Boxers are good dogs but they need training, they are very smart but strong both physically and mentally. He needs to learn his place in the (pack) family, right now he is just a big naughty child that has no boundaries or consequences for his actions. Train him and he will serve you and your family for years to come don’t train him and you will most likely decide he is to hard to handle especially with a new baby.
